about

Released on June 30, 2020, 100 days into the coronavirus lockdown in the UK, 'The Wheel of Life' is a reflection on aging and mortality, and of the importance of living consciously in the moment, which was written and recorded before the virus hit, but has, we hope, added poignancy because of the events of the last few months.

UPDATE July 10, 2020: Check out the video for ‘The Wheel of Life’, made by drummer Bren Horstead, here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQ-U9IHVBtk

lyrics

The Wheel of Life (Andy Worthington)

I never knew the wheel of life could be so cold
But then again I never contemplated getting old
They call us dignified but it feels more like invisibility
For women the change is the end of their fertility

I never knew the wheel of life could be so free
Letting go of the chains of our mortality
The past is gone, the future is unwritten still
All we can be sure of is the breathing out and breathing in

Chorus

Living here and now
Living in the moment
Living here and now
Living in the moment
We shall sing we shall sing we shall sing our own song

Verse 2 (repeat)

Chorus (repeat)
